Ben Finley & Art Clay forty-six + years ago founded an organization called the National Brotherhood of skiers, (NBS.org), a very prestigious organization. The mission of the NBS is to: “To identify develop and support athletes of color who will win International and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States.” They are still committed to their vision and mission and still attend the NBS Black Ski Summit’s to this day. Let’s open the curtains and applaud these gentlemen, let the world know who they are and honor them around the world.
During the week of the NBS Black Ski Summit, February 29 – March 7, 2020, in Sun Valley, ID we the NBS will be "Honoring our Founders" by induction as the first African Americans into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame! The NBS appreciates them and this honor is well deserved and overdue. Not only for that week but, for the forty-six + years of dedication to their vision and mission.
A common statement shared among those who are not versed in worldly things is "black people don't ski.” Let’s dispel this myth. News flash, the world need know that Black people do ski. Sign up NBS.org.
